Swimming pool maintenances

A swimming pool pump is an essential component of any swimming pool, as it helps to circulate the water, keeping it clean and healthy for swimmers. However, like any other piece of equipment, a swimming pool pump requires regular maintenance to keep it running efficiently and to avoid breakdowns. In this blog post, we will cover some of the key aspects of swimming pool pump maintenance.

Step 1: How to maintain an above ground pool – Clean the pool bottom

A standard step of swimming pool care & maintenance, irrespective of the method you adopt, is to clean the pool bottom to remove dirt. Use a long-handled brush to thoroughly scrub the pool bottom and loosen any dirt. It’s essential to do this at least once in two days to prevent dirt from settling.

Step 2: How to keep above ground pools clean – Sieve the dirt

Once you dislodge the dirt from the bottom, use a pool net sieve to catch dirt, leaves, insects, or any debris floating in the pool. Repeat this daily to keep the swimming pool water clean.

Step 3: How to remove dirt from the bottom of an above ground pool

The net won’t reach the bottom of the pool to remove dirt. You can use a swimming pool vacuum to suck the dirt from the bottom. Use the vacuum once in two days to keep the pool bottom clean.

Step 4: Replace the pool pump filter

The pool filter collects dirt over time, due to which it doesn’t work efficiently after some time. Regularly check the condition of the pool pump filter and replace it with a new one if it looks very dirty. Periodically doing this will keep the pool water clean.

Note: The pool filter pump helps circulate the water and keep it moving to prevent algae formation on the surface. However, the pool might invariably have some dead spots such as corners, behind the ladder, or crevices, where the water doesn’t circulate well. You can use the pool brush to circulate water manually in these areas to improve circulation. Alternatively, you can install multi-directional return jets to ensure circulation in the dead spaces.

Step 5: How to treat the pool water to keep it clean

Besides cleaning the wall and the surface dirt in the pool, it’s essential to ensure safe water quality. Treating it with chlorine is a simple way of keeping the pool water clean. The best way to add chlorine is to add it to a chlorine float and leave it floating in the pool for around 10 hours. Add 1 gram of chlorine for every 1000 litres of pool water.

Note: Do not use the pool for 10 hours after adding chlorine.

Step 6: Use high energy efficiency swimming pool pump special for circulation and filtration.

ESWIM is the new electronic swimming pool pump with high energy efficiency made by DAB.

Designed for water circulation and filtration in residential and civil swimming pools, but also suitable for specific applications requiring the handling of aggressive liquids like fish farming, agriculture and industry.

Step 7: Repeat the steps to keep the pool clean

Make a pool cleaning schedule to avoid missing out on brushing, sieving, vacuuming, replacing the filter, and adding chlorine to keep the pool clean. Following these tips for maintaining an above ground pool will keep your pool water clean and safe for swimming."
